ABOUT ME
where it all started
I'm dedicating the chapter about myself to my dad
He's the one who got me into photography and filmmaking. It was his biggest hobby, and he always happily shared what he knew with me and my sister. He'd get us involved in developing and printing photos and was the most patient and understanding teacher. He taught us to really look at the world and notice things others might miss, to see and appreciate what's important. He let us make mistakes and try again, showing us how to capture the beauty of the world and making us fall in love with photography. He set the foundation for who I am. It all started with him.
Hi!
I’m Olga
I'm a huge book lover, introvert, introspective, romantic, idealist, and a documentary photographer and a filmmaker. Glad you popped in! We're definitely on the same page if:
  • You hate posing for photos
  • You feel like time flies too fast and kids grow up by the hour
  • Your phone's full of pics of your loved ones but you’re hardly in any
  • You see the value in every single day and don't think photos are just for special occasions
If even one of these resonates with you, we’re on the same path!
So…what aspects of my life do I enjoy the most?
My family
I’m a mom of three and a wife of the best man in the world who’s pretty easygoing
Sometimes I feel like I’m not that grown-up myself, which makes it easy for me to connect with kids, haha! I also believe that everyone should be free, so I try to live in a way that makes life awesome for me and my family. For them, I’m more of a guide, a support, and an emotional battery! What comes of all this, I’m not sure, but for now, we’re just living and enjoying each other.
My Hobbies
I have a ton of interests
cinema, directing, psychology, drama, marketing, business, art, literature, antiques, restoration, crafts, books, and interior design. I dabble in drawing and furniture restoration, building my own home library, and can’t get enough of antique markets and abandoned buildings. I also paint icons and play pickleball. I share bits and pieces of all this on my Instagram
My projects
I’m a perpetual student, always learning new things
My latest big project has been going on for a year now—it's a documentary photography class with an amazingly talented, award-winning photographer called "Photographer as Storyteller." I share my work and progress on my blog. Check it out to see what it's like to be a real photojournalist!
Documentary photographer
Documentary photography and photojournalism are just genres
They don't mean much without the people behind the camera and their inner world. Over the years, I've developed my own unique aesthetic and style. It's my way of seeing the world and expressing color, form, fotmjggjg
composition, story, and content through photography. This evolved slowly, influenced by my love for art, movies, and literature, and especially by my family and the incredibly talented teachers I was lucky to learn from. At some point, just capturing form wasn't enough anymore and couldn't fully express everything I was feeling inside.
At some point, just capturing form wasn't enough anymore and couldn't fully express everything I was feeling inside. I felt the need to go deeper, to explore the inner essence of people and events. My own reflections have shaped my work. Now, my photos aren't just about meaning; I try to find a balance between aesthetics and depth, form and content. I feel like I'm only at the beginning of my journey, with many years ahead of me refining my craft and discovering new meanings.
